In 1967 op Academie Artibus in Utrecht toegelaten. In 1972 de vijfjarige opleiding Publiciteitsontwerpen/Grafische Vormgeving afgerond. Daarna in Friesland gewoond en bij Koninklijke Tichelaar als plateelschilder de kost verdiend.
In 1976 naar Amsterdam verhuisd. Eind 1980 voor mijzelf begonnen als freelance grafisch vormgever. Hiermee kan ik min of meer nog steeds in mijn onderhoud voorzien en hou daarnaast tijd over voor grafiek, schilderen, installaties/bouwsels etc.

In 1967, I was admitted to the Artibus Academy in Utrecht. In 1972, I completed the five-year Publicity Design/Graphic Design program. Afterward, I lived in Friesland and earned a living as a pottery painter at Koninklijke Tichelaar.
In 1976, I moved to Amsterdam. In late 1980, I started my own business as a freelance graphic designer. This still allows me to more or less support myself, and I also have time for graphics, painting, installations/structures etc.

Geëxposeerd werk
Wat mijn werk verbindt met het thema van Expo Hart ligt voor mij toch voor een belangrijk deel aan de huidige maatschappelijke en (internationale) politieke ontwikkelingen; de politisering, het milieu en oorlogsdreiging kan ik als kunstenaar niet zomaar naast mij neerleggen. Ondanks dit gegeven wil ik mijn werk niet te zwaar over laten komen, er moet vooral ook ruime zijn voor ’schoonheid’.

Exhibited work
For me, the connection between my work and the theme of Expo Hart lies largely in current social and (international) political developments; as an artist, I can't simply ignore politicization, the environment, and the threat of war. Despite this, I don't want my work to appear too heavy; above all, there must be room for "beauty."
