Myriam Weisz is schilder en tekenaar van verschillende landschappen. Verstilling en weidsheid spelen een belangrijke rol in haar schilderijen. De verhouding tussen figuratie en abstractie geven de werken de nodige spanning. De gelaagdheid in de olieverf en de schildertoets geven betekenis aan de verfhuid . Zij houdt zich bezig met elementen als patronen en structuren in strand, zee en lucht, het suggereren van ruimte in een vlak, de verbeelding van de zee als vrije ruimte waarin de lange zichtlijnen vergankelijkheid en melancholie suggereren.
Zij is niet perse op zoek naar vernieuwing maar naar verdieping, tijdloosheid, kunde en vaardigheid.
Myriam Weisz heeft haar diploma aan de Gerrit Rietveldacademie behaald en daarna ook haar lesbevoegdheid. Ze exposeert regelmatig en geeft les in haar atelier onder de naam Atelier MW. Ze is medeoprichtster van Broedplaats Saeckenborgh en organiseert samen met anderen tentoonstellingen en projecten. Zij heeft haar eigen kunstbedrijf op de 4e verdieping in gebouw Saeckenborgh.
About Myriam Weisz
Myriam Weisz is a painter and illustrator of various landscapes. Tranquility and expansiveness play a significant role in her paintings. The relationship between figuration and abstraction lends the works a sense of tension. The layering of the oil paint and the brushstrokes give meaning to the painted surface. She focuses on elements such as patterns and structures in the beach, sea, and sky, the suggestion of space within a plane, and the depiction of the sea as an open space in which the long sightlines suggest transience and melancholy.
She is not necessarily seeking innovation, but rather depth, timelessness, skill, and dexterity.
Myriam Weisz earned her diploma from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and subsequently her teaching qualification. She exhibits regularly and teaches in her studio under the name Atelier MW. She is co-founder of Broedplaats Saeckenborgh and organizes exhibitions and projects with others. She has her own art studio on the 4th floor of the Saeckenborgh building.
